Robert N. Smith, III
I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, to missionary parents.  Upon returning to the States we moved a couple times, but eventually, my family made Keene, Texas, our home.  After living in Keene for most of my life, I decided I needed an adventure, and so I spent my freshman year in college at Atlantic Union College.  I did, however, earn my B.A. (English/history) from Southwestern Adventist University and M.A. (history) from Andrews University.  My wife Tiffany and I were married in 1997 in San Diego, California, where we both taught at San Diego Adventist Academy.  In 2001, we moved to Maryland, where I became the Vice Principal at Takoma Academy.  Then, in 2002, I became the Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Potomac Conference, overseeing the K-8s and K-10s in the greater Washington, D.C., area.  Our daughter, Madison (Maddie) was born in 2004.  Our family loves to travel and to minister for God by meeting the needs of young people and teachers.  We also enjoy the sport of purebred dogs, being the proud owner of a show dog, Lily, a Tibetan terrier.

Sue Kingman

I am originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I moved to Vermont in August, 2008. I have always had a passion for teaching. When I was a little girl, I would pretend to be the teacher and my stuffed animals would be the pupils. I had such a quiet and obedient class! I was baptized in 1982 and knew that God wanted me to be a teacher for Him. I attended Andrews University in Michigan and received my BS in Elementary Education as well as my Master of Art in Teaching. From there, I came back home and taught for four years, grades 1-8, at the Cape Cod SDA Elementary School. I then traveled through all 50 states before starting a family. I have two sons, Jed and James, who attend central Vermont Academy. I am thrilled to be a part of the faculty at CVA and look forward to being used by God to be a positive Christian influence in the lives of His K-2 kids. I also look forward to seeing what God is going to teach me!
